Michael awoke from the transfer, unable to control the functions of the cyborg. He watched helplessly through his new cybernetic eyes as it carried out a test mission, killing some soldiers in the process. Slowly, Michael found he could control the actions of the cyborg, and he immediately set out to pursue his old friend Ryker.
Deathlok caught up to Ryker in the act of making an illegal arms sale to a private army. Before turning him in to officials, he learned from Ryker that his human body still existed, and he could be restored if he could find it and the doctor who performed the transfer.
Deathlok set out on his quest to find his body, and return to his perfect life with his family.

PowersMichael Collins had the perfect life: a loving family and a rewarding, high paying job at Cybertek, a division of the Roxxon Corporation. While going over his computer code which he thought was being used to help those in need control artificial limbs, he discovered that his work was actually going into a killing machine project codenamed "Deathlok". Turning to his boss and friend, Harlan Ryker, Michael shared his discovery in hopes that Ryker would do something about it. Ryker was behind the Deathlok project as well as many other projects destined for military uses, so he betrayed Michael and had his brain placed into the Deathlok cyborg.
Deathlok is an advanced cyborg utilizing encephalonic read/write technology to link the human brain with a CPU. Deathlok’s brain is supported by organic lungs; which transport oxygen to his brain. The only other parts of the cyborg that are human are part of his skull and a modified human stomach. Deathlok’s sensitive stomach can only process simple nutrient formulas or pastes. His organic systems are supported by nanotech assemblers, which can repair damaged organics. The rest of the body is made up of synthetic parts. His skeleton is composed of unbreakable Adamantium, while his muscles and cartilage are a flexible steel/Adamantium alloy. His unique physical structure allows him to lift 85 tons with a theoretical limit of 150 tons; which is safeguarded by his computer preventing him from reaching his limit. Deathlok can run at speeds of 107 MPH on foot. The Cybernetic left eye is sensitive to a spectrum stretching above and below visible light, while his left cybernetic ear has directional cabilbities. Deathlok’s CPU is housed within his torso, and rests next to the controlled fusion generator which powers him.
Abilities
Michael can communicate with Deathlok's artificial intelligence unit, allowing him access to its strategic analysis of a situation or opponent. This is limited by Michael’s strict “no killing” parameter. The built in computer systems can also communicate with other computer networks, allowing Deathlok to "hack" into any system he requires data from. Michael is well-educated in computers and cybernetics.
Weapons
Deathlok uses a plasma pistol that dispenses plasma by super-heating inert gases and is powered by the cyborg's internal reactor. The weapons power is limited and must remain in contact with Deathlok's right hand, otherwise it will fail to operate. Deathlok also has an Assault Plasma Rifle with more fire-power and a plasma "grenade" launcher. Due to the limitations of Collins "no-killing" parameter, These weapons are rarely uses and are housed in the units backpack.
Paraphernalia
Deathlok has a built-in back pack, which he can use to store items like his Plasma Assault Rifle. Deathlok also possesses a Cybertek Dragonfly plane, a high-speed low-altitude flier. At one time, Deathlok used an Adamantium/Vibranium alloy shock-dampening helm to protect his organic portion of his face; this was abandoned when it was discovered to house a receiver and could be used by Cybertek to override Collin’s control of the cyborg.
